Julius Steinbach

Julius Steinbach gained his first musical experience as a member and later as a soloist with the Tölz Boys’ Choir. From a young age, he benefited from a thorough vocal training there, studying under Prof. Gerhard Schmidt-Gaden, Dr. Clemens Haudum, and Christian Fliegner, among others.
As a boy soloist at various opera houses, he developed an ever-growing enthusiasm for the art of singing. After graduating from high school, he first attended the vocational school for music in Plattling, where he studied choral conducting and voice with Loretta Heigl. He then continued his studies at the Leopold Mozart Center in Augsburg under Prof. Dominik Wortig.
Julius Steinbach has a particular passion for oratorio and art song. He can thus be heard regularly in the evangelist roles of the Bach and Schütz Passions. In addition, he has taken on roles including Tony in Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, as well as the roles of Don Ottavio and Ferrando in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte, and Gabriel Eisenstein in Johann Strauss’s Die Fledermaus.
Since October 2024, Julius Steinbach has been studying in the class of KS Prof. Jochen Kupfer at the University of Music in Würzburg. In the art song repertoire, he is mentored by Gerold Huber and Andrea Marie Baiocchi. Together with his duet partner Saori Iuchi, he won the sponsorship award at the Serafin Art Song Competition.
He has furthered his training through master classes with Michael Schade, Brigitte Lindner, Konstantin Krimmel, and Johannes Martin Kränzle.
Julius Steinbach is a scholarship recipient of the Richard Wagner Association of Würzburg.
