Mahler - Onslow

Clarinettist Claudia Mendel and soprano Katja Woitsch, accompanied by pianist Bernhard Kuffer, open the chamber concert season with works between Romanticism and Modernism. In addition to Franz Schubert's "Der Hirt auf dem Felsen" and selected songs as well as the fantasy pieces for clarinet and piano by Robert Schumann, the programme with Gustav Mahler's "Das himmlische Leben" and Olivier Messiaen's iridescent “Abime des oiseaux” leads into the sound world of the 20th century.
