Journey to the New World

Fourth Family Concert
from 6 years
A large orchestra, a voyage across the Atlantic, and music brimming with a spirit of adventure—that’s what you’ll experience at the 4th Family Concert featuring Antonín Dvořák’s famous 9th Symphony. When Dvořák traveled to America in 1892, everything was new to him: the people, the landscapes, the sounds. He listened with rapt attention to spirituals, indigenous melodies, and the vibrant life of the big city—and he transformed all of that into music. The symphony is full of color, energy, and grand emotions: from the mysterious opening, through the wistful English horn solo in the second movement, to the rousing finale.
