5th Chamber Concert

Under the title “A Dialogue for Three,” the 6th Chamber Concert features works that explore every facet of the rare sound combination of two violins and a viola. The Slavic program opens with Antonín Dvořák’s warmly luminous Terzetto, followed by the Romantic Miniatures, Op. 75a, which evoke wonderful atmospheric images of Bohemian nature and the folk spirit. The rarely heard trio by Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko adds a charming and similarly folkloric work from the late 19th century. The concert concludes on a cheerful and playful note with Serenade No. 2 by the Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů.
