This new dance production presented in Small Theatre Hall is dedicated to the art of composing letters, no matter if we talk about love letters, famous correspondences or writing itself, for example diary entries. Not only the content of these texts will be topic of this evening, but also writing itself or more precisely, writing by hand which is an essential part in composing a personal letter. What is it that makes the movement of writing such a special one? As a child, you learn the technique of writing, later on in life, it will not only be about the technique but also about the art of writing. That is why there is much more to a letter than simple words. Handwriting reflects your personality- in contrast to printed letters such as emails. As receiver, we hold something palpable and very personal in our hands, almost like we would hold a piece of the sender’s history and character. Letters carry meaning. They are artefacts of our own as well as society’s history.
