Summer Serenade

A balmy summer evening filled with music, encounters, and special moments: With its Summer Serenade, the Mainfranken Theater invites you to an atmospheric season finale.

The evening unfolds in two parts and begins with a promenade concert that, in three stages, allows you to experience the world of music from different perspectives. In the intimate setting of the rehearsal stage, baritone Leo Hyunho Kim will captivate the audience with a song recital. In the entrance foyer, General Music Director Mark Rohde will offer fascinating insights into the art of conducting and invite guests to discover music from the perspective of the musical director. In the Kleines Haus, chamber music will be performed by musicians from the Philharmonic Orchestra.

Following this initial journey through the musical inner workings of the theater, a relaxed intermission invites you to continue enjoying the evening in a convivial atmosphere on the Stadtbalkon and in the upper foyer. Refreshing beverages (included in the admission package) and a summery selection of dishes curated especially for this occasion provide culinary highlights.

The season concludes with a joint closing concert in the Kleines Haus. Frederick Delius’s Summer Night on the River and Manuel de Falla’s ballet suite El amor brujo, featuring mezzo-soprano Vero Miller, exude a summery, Mediterranean atmosphere. Stefan Albers, principal flutist of the Philharmonic Orchestra, will perform as soloist in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Flute Concerto in G Major, K. 313.
